i have an older version of this printer - bought in 2012. the automatic tray is broken (so i have to hand feed paper) but it's still working "well". i replaced the toner with secondary market one for about 10 bucks a few years ago. //@Anonymous: Does Brother have good customer service? Now, as you know, apple chips are not getting much better, partly because of lack of good engineers and the slow improvement over the 3/4nm node. So... getting M1 pro instead may be a better idea.

Previous gen M1 processors are a better value and should be more than sufficient for 70-80% of all users. If anything, Apple has bad marketing. No professional user is going to buy the MB with low specs, and no average user is going to spend $1.2K+ on it either. They should have significantly lowered the price, or not have an option with 8GB RAM/256GB storage.

1), M1 is super fast with no heat. 2), Mac is very efficient in using memory. I am a programmer converted from PC to MAC ~ 10 years ago, never look back. Of course, I bought a MacBook Pro, but I got a M1 MacBook Air for my son, he is very happy about it.

Yeah pc screens and especially laptop or phone screens are different than TVs. With a TV, most people will never sit closer than 6ft away so there is an upper limit to what resolution is worthwhile given the screen size. No. QHD is good enough for 23 but not for 27. You can easily tell the difference.
Even 4k is hardly enough for 27, if you get use to 5K (like iMac), you can feel the big difference between 4K and 5K.
