I personally think apple tags are useless for all practical purposes. It is at best works if it is in the same room as your phone. You move to a different location with as minimum as with 2-3 walls it does not work. Different cars have different gas tank size because they have different MPGs. But a full tank of gas will let you drive similar distances with different cars (excluding hybrids). If 256G was not a single module like M1 Air, this is a great choice, but since it is not, go either m1 air or m1 pro, depending on your needs. I got both, one for my daughter and one for me, and yes, I tried M2 256G and M2 512G, but the former is slow, the latter is too expensive compared to its capability.
